HMS 120 - Direct Support/Cmnty Services

Description
This course introduces the field of direct support and community services in relation to working in a variety of settings (e.g., residential programs and day programs) with people who have a disability. The course reviews client needs and services and identifies the skills and attitudes required of the effective direct support professional. Topics include types of disabilities and a brief history of disability services. Pre-requisites: (Test scores or ENG 006 or ENG 007 or EAP 093 or higher)
