NURS 196C - Med-Surg Nursing I

Description
Prerequisite: NURS 191 C, and NURS 193 C. Term hours: 41 lecture and 148 laboratory. This course prepares the student to apply the nursing process and develop nursing judgment within a spirit of inquiry based on the science and art of nursing to prioritize care for the medical-surgical patient in multiple clinical settings. Students will recall and build upon previously learned curricular concepts of patient centered care, safety, oxygenation, regulation and movement using intra and interdisciplinary teamwork and collaboration, professionalism, evidence based practice, quality improvement and informatics to provide effective care to achieve positive patient outcomes.
