Introduces the analysis of steady and transient heat conduction, forced and natural convection, radiation heat transfer, and design of heat exchangers. Analytical and numerical methods in heat transfer and fluid mechanics. Topics include heat conduction and convection, gaseous radiation, boiling and condensation, general aspects of phase change, mass transfer principles, multimode heat transfer and the simulation of thermal fields, and the heat transfer process. 150 minutes lecture/discussion and 150 minutes laboratory per week.
