PHIL 119 - Introduction to the Old Testament

Description
General survey of the books of the Old Testament from a nondenominational perspective. Covers the history, ideas and theological beliefs of Biblical Israel and deals with those themes in the light of archeological research and literary criticism. Class Notes: Resident to Distance/Remote/COVID-19 This class will keep its regular meeting pattern but will meet online. It requires students to meet remotely on the days and times indicated. This will be done primarily through live (but online) interaction using teleconferencing software (such as Webex, MS Teams, Zoom, Big Blue Button, etc.). This class may require students to use the Respondus lock-down browser for online testing. This browser requires students to have a webcam and does not work with Chromebooks or tablets such as iPads. Students with Chromebooks or tablets may need to use a CSN computer for testing or to make other arrangements.
