Enhances rhythmic acuity through intensive rhythmic drills, analytical listening, drumming, notating and creating rhythm-based performance work. Course material explores non-Western rhythmic paradigms, irregular meters, mixed meters, poly-meter, polyrhythms, etc., and how to communicate clearly with a live accompanist in technique class. Meets with DNCE 3014. Class Notes: Program Fee of $25 per credit hour. Students who do not attend the first two class sessions may be administratively dropped at the discretion of the instructor.
