DNCE 3014 - Inside the Groove: Developing Rhythmic Skills

Description
Enhances rhythmic acuity through intensive rhythmic drills, analytical listening, drumming, notating and creating rhythm-based performance work. Course material explores non-Western rhythmic paradigms, irregular meters, mixed meters, polyrhythms, etc., and how to communicate clearly with a live accompanist in technique class. Class Notes: Students who do not attend the first two class sessions may be administratively dropped at the discretion of the instructor. Enrollment Requirements: Restricted to Dance (DNCE or DBFA) majors or minors only.
