CHEM 4312 - Instrumental Chromatography

Description
In depth theoretical and hands-on experience with gas chromatography (GC), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS). Methods of sample preparation prior to chromatographic analysis are also covered. These include liquid/liquid extraction, solid phase extraction and solid phase microextraction. Laboratory work emphasizes chromatographic methods development for applications in the pharmaceutical industry, in forensics labs and in environmental monitoring labs. Class Notes: Writing IntensiveMust also register for CHEM 4312 lec E284. Enrollment Requirements: Prerequisite of CHEM 3412. Requirement Designation: Regular Liberal Arts.
