Prerequisite, BUS 603, or graduate accounting major. This course focuses on business analytics and mathematical modeling. Extending the skills obtained in the statistics course (BUS 603), this class focuses on models for prescriptive and predictive analytics as well as structured decision making under uncertainty. Multiple regression modeling, business forecasting, Monte Carlo simulation, risk modeling applications will be covered, as well as optimization including linear, integer and non-linear programming. Decision analysis will make up the final major topic of the course. The course emphasizes applications that are useful for managerial decision making in operations, marketing and finance settings. Some sections of this course will be restricted to students admitted to specific degree programs. (Offered as needed.) 3 credits. Enrollment Requirements: MS Accounting majors may enroll; other majors must complete BUS 603.
