WFA 8001 - Basic Mechanical Skills

Description
This eight-day 64-hour course is designed for CTA Second Chance Program Participants prequalified by CTA. This course will provide participants with basic knowledge and skills foundtional to any mechanical trade, which will help them to pursue entry-level employment in a variety of mechanical fields. The skills learned in this preparatory program will be easily applicable to a variety of mechanical fields, inclusive of diesel mechanics. This program will cover the following categories: Workplace safety, mathematics, tools y tool safety, fastening methods, printreading/schematics, precision measurement, rigging, lifting, lubrication, bearings, flexible belt drives, mechanical drives, electrical principles, AC/DC electrical systems, hydraulic principles and applications, pneumatics principles and applications, gaskets, packings and seals, spatial relationships, reasoning and decision making, engine identification,.
