READING 125 - Developmental Reading Skills II

Description
For students who need to improve their reading skills; efficient reading of textbooks and other materials including work in mechanics of reading, vocabulary development, comprehension, and rate of reading. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Class Notes: It is mandatory for students to complete all (no partial credit) Developmental Education Initiative (DEI) modules for a total of 16 hours of GROUP TUTORING in Room 3114/3115 (or Room 2220 at the AVI campus), see their advisor at least two times during the semester, complete at least 5 hours of computer assisted learning online, and retake the placement test. DEI (formerly CASH-to-ROI) is worth 15% of the final course grade. Enrollment Requirements: Grade of C or better in Reading 99, COMPASS Reading (65-79), or Consent of Department Chairperson.
