MUSIC 183 - World Music

Description
A study of representative music of the non-Western world, with an emphasis on its function within the culture of which it is a part. Elements, structure, listening, aesthetic perspectives; concert attendance. Students need no prior formal training or education in music to take this course. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Class Notes: Section GM is a mini semester class which begins the week of 9/24/18 and ends the week ending 12/15/18. Enrollment Requirements: Eligibility for English 101 based on prior coursework or CCCRTW, COMPASS, ACT, or SAT test scores, or Consent of Department Chairperson. Requirement Designation: Class meets Human Diversity requirements.
