MATH 143 - Pre Calculus

Description
Emphasizes the notion of function as a unifying concepts for the topics of college algebra and trigonometry. Families and their characteristics include: polynomial functions; rational functions; exponential and logarithmic functions; and trigonometric functions and applications involving problem-solving skills. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Enrollment Requirements: Completion of Math 99 with a C or better, or ALEKS 46+, or COMPASS ALGEBRA 43+ AND College ALGEBRA 1-50, or ACT Math 21+, or SAT Math 500+ if before 3/1/16 (530+ if after 3/1/16) , or Consent of department.
