MATH 121 - Math For Elementary Teachers I

Description
This course focuses on mathematical reasoning and problem solving. Topics include operations with rational and irrational numbers, sets, functions, logic, numeration systems and number theory, and solution of linear equations in one variable. Applications are included throughout the course. Problem-solving with the use of calculators and computers is emphasized throughout the course. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Class Notes: Students are strongly encouraged to have concurrent enrollment in Math 122 CG. Enrollment Requirements: Completion of Math 99 with a C or better, or ALEKS 46+, or COMPASS ALGEBRA 43+ AND College ALGEBRA 1-50, or ACT Math 21+, or SAT Math 500+, or Consent of department.
