ABEGED 201 - Low Intermediate Abe Math

Students will develop fluency in calculations with multi-digit whole and decimal numbers as well as calculations with fractions and the relationship between them. They will learn concepts of ratio and rates, addition and subtraction of fractions. They will understand why the procedures for multiplying and dividing fractions make sense. Reading, writing, and interpreting expressions and equations and generating patterns in numbers and shapes provide a conceptual foundation for functions. In addition, students will begin analyzing geometric properties, such as parallelism, perpendicularity, and symmetry, and developing and finding volumes of right rectangular prisms. Sampling techniques and data collection through statistical questioning adds the understanding of measures of center and spread and display of collected data with line plots. Enrollment Requirements: TABE test scores from grade level 4.0-5.9.
