3 hour lecture and 2 hour laboratory; 4 creditsIntroduction to Geographic Information Systems and its application to political science research. Identifying spatial political phenomena such as polarization, policy diffusion, and democratization. Laboratory sessions on creating and editing maps and analyzing spatial data.Prerequisite: Core Studies 3 or Core Curriculum 1230, or any Political Science course in the 1000-level range, or English 1010 or equivalent, or permission of department. Enrollment Requirements: Core Studies 3 or Core Curriculum 1230, or any Political Science course in the 1000-level range, or English 1010 is required to take this course.
