3 hours; 3 creditsRelation of current trends and conflicts in the Supreme Court to the clash of fundamental ideas and values in American society. Cases involving civil liberties including such issues as freedom of speech, press, religion, and criminal justice and race relations.Prerequisite: Core Studies 3 or Core Curriculum 1230, or any Political Science course in the 1000-level range, or English 1010 or equivalent, or permission of department. Enrollment Requirements: Core Studies 3 or Core Curriculum 1230, or any Political Science course in the 1000-level range, or English 1010 is required to take this course. Requirement Designation: Regular Liberal Arts.
