POLS 436 OIL, DEVELOPMENT, AND DEMOCRACY (3-0-3)(F/S). Examines the relationship between oil, development, and democracy. Analyzes the consequences of oil for democracy, economic performance, gender, violence, international cooperation, and international economic outcomes. Provides an in depth understanding of individual oil-rich countries and cross national patterns. PREREQ: POLS 305 or POLS 306, or Global Studies major or minor or Environmental Studies major or minor and upper-division standing. Enrollment Requirements: Prerequisite: POLS 305 or POLS 306, or Global Studies major or minor or Environmental Studies major or minor and upper-division standing.
