This class is pretty much an easy A. You do not need to buy any of the textbooks on the syllabus since his tests are directly from the slides/whatever he says during lecture. Prof. Weigel is very nice, but his lectures can tend to become boring and long-winded if you aren't interested in language history. There's little to no technical linguistics.

Bill is passionate about linguistics, but his lectures can be a little unfocused. However, if you pay attention and take notes, you will learn some fascinating things and do just fine on midterms and finals. The topics can be interesting, and writing my final research paper was fun and the class ended up being an easy A.
