This course is the required laboratory course companion to ENVS 431R/531R Soil Genesis and Classification. The course is designed for advanced undergraduate and graduate students in soil and water science, environmental science, geoscience, plant science and related fields. The course provides an understanding of soil genesis, soil forming processes, and the role of soils in ecosystem processes through field trips and soil data synthesis. Class Notes: **Course Requisites: Basic knowledge of physical geology (e.g., GEOS 251) is strongly recommended. Enrollment Requirements: ENVS 200 is a required prerequisite. ENVS 531R must be taken concurrently with ENVS 531L.
