This course traces how the Jewish and Christian Scriptures were produced, preserved, transmitted, authorized, and canonized in living communities of faith. It explores how inspiration and revelation-as well as social structures, historical events, and politics-feature in the development and persistence of a sacred canon. When registering for an online class, you must provide the university with a valid email address.
