SPAN 430 - Race, Gender and Power

Description
A close examination of Latin American and/or Spanish texts (literature, film, and music, for example) to introduce students to the way in which gender and race are integral components in the struggle for power (including political, social, cultural, and economic power). Students continue to develop close reading skills and language proficiency as they analyze a range of power dynamics as represented in different cultural texts. Prerequisite: Three 300-level courses in Spanish. Distribution Requirements: HE, PD.
