RELST 170 - Religions of China

Description
A study of the major traditions of China, Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism, and folk religion. The Chinese religion is considered on four levels: the personal, the family, community, state. The course concludes with a look at religion in contemporary China: Maoism and its decline and the Buddhist struggle to survive. This course counts toward the International Studies major. Distribution Requirements: HE, SB.
