HIST 265 - Myth/Reality in the Amer Past

Description
An investigation of the myths of American history, why they were created, and how they reflect American values. Some myths that might be explored are those associated with the noble savage, George Washington, the Plantation South, as well as the "Camelot" myths created about the Kennedy Administration. Students will formulate their own interpretations of people and events that have been the object of America's mythological past. Open to freshmen and sophomores only. Distribution Requirements: CL, HE.
