A survey of environmental issues from a quantitative perspective in order to expose students to mathematical tools used in the environmental sciences. Students are asked to make recommendations on issues surrounding climate change, pollution, ecosystem health, land use, population growth, natural resource management, and other current environmental issues. In the process of investigating these topics, students develop a mathematical toolkit for carrying out a variety of calculations, understanding uncertainty, interpreting data, and developing mathematical models to describe economic, social, and environmental systems. Prerequisite: ENVSC*110. Distribution Requirements: QR, SP.
