ENGL 110 - Reading Literature

Description
A course in the close reading of literary texts. Through the study of a limited number of works of fiction, poetry, and drama, students will develop their ability to read carefully and to understand the relations between literary texts and a range of historical and/or literary contexts. The course will also introduce students to some of the terms, critical approaches, and research methodologies necessary for further literary study. English 110/200 is a prerequisite for all other courses in English with the exception of 100. Distribution Requirements: HE.
