DMS 114 - Asian Martial Arts I

Description
Physical training and intellectual exploration of a specific Asian martial art. Students learn basic physical techniques of the form. Explorations include the historical, cultural, and philosophical bases of the particular Asian martial art through reading and discussion. Each semester focuses on a specific form such as Tang Soo Doo (Korea), Kung Fu (China), Karate (Okinawa). Credit: Two semester hours. Distribution Requirements: HE, IP. **The course requires a small additional fee.**
