COMRT 340 - Digital and Screen Cultures

Description
Advanced discussion of mediated cultures. Students will investigate a specific medium, technology, or genre in media history, gaining historical, institutional, and textual expertise in a particular mediated culture. Topics may include new media technologies, media convergence, digital media cultures, reality television, television and new media, social media, Hollywood film, international cinema, brand culture, and broadcast history. Prerequisite: Communication Arts 220 or 240, or permission of the instructor.
