COMRT 261 - Media Institutions

Description
An introduction to media institutions, surveying the history of media industries and media policy. Students explore the development of media technologies and content in relation to historical transformations in cultures of media production as well as contemporary debates about media regulation. We consider the economic structure of the media industries and focus on the practical ways in which institutions and industries shape media culture. Distribution Requirements: CL, SB.
