CHEM 222 - Inorganic Chemistry

Description
An examination of the structure, bonding, and reactivity of inorganic compounds with examples drawn from main group and transition-metal chemistry. Topics include molecular symmetry and group theory with focus placed on their application to vibrational and electronic spectroscopy; molecular orbital theory; reaction mechanisms of coordination complexes; and organometallic chemistry. One laboratory per week. Prerequisite: CHEM*231. Distribution Requirements: QR, SP.
