ART 281 - Painting I

Description
A study of the fundamentals of painting in oils or acrylics. The preparation of supports and grounds, indirect and direct methods of painting, color organization, composition and artistic expression are presented through studio projects. Historical background on painting in the 20th century is introduced. A field trip to an area art museum is required. Prerequisite: ART*151, ART*155, or ART*156, or permission of the instructor. Distribution Requirements: HE, ME.
