IT 261 - Routing & Switching Basics

Description
This course dicusses the importance of routing and switching in the networking field. Students will configure routers and switches for small to medium sized networks. Routed protocols such as TCP/IP and IPX/SPX are also dicussed. Routing Protocols such as RIP and IGRP; Switching concepts such as STP, VLAN, VTP are also covered. Finally, students will learn to configure firewalls on the routers through ACL's. Pre-requisites: IT 162.
