FIN 439 - Student Managed Fund

Description
(3-0-3), fall, spring. This course comprises a group of students that are responsible for managing a portion of the university’s endowment. Specifically, they are responsible for constructing and monitoring a portfolio of long positions in common stocks. This portfolio is referred to as the Student Managed Investment Fund and uses the brand name STAR (Student Trading and Research). Prerequisite: FIN 310 with a grade of “C” or better.

I have had Jody for a few courses, my favorites being STAR and Money and Banking. Jody genuinely loves what he does and is a phenomenal professor. He cares about his students and wants the best out of all of them. He has outstanding connections as well, so be attentive/present while in class and he will have no problem putting in a good word.
